Although the duration of the operation varies according to the number of grafts that will be transplanted, it usually lasts around 6 to 7 hours.
First step is to sit down with the surgeon for a detailed consultation and planning- during which the surgeon gets to understand the person to receive the implant and his/her expectations in order to provide the best care.
This is the first step in the clinic- the person to receive the hair transplantation is prepared for the operation in every way possible, to make sure everything is ready and in order for a successful operation.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method is applied using only local anesthesia; which means it is mostly a painless process, and does not require the recipient to spend any time at the hospital after the operation.
During this process, the surgeon uses a special tool to extract grafts from the patient's donor area- traditionally the back and sides of the scalp. In some cases, if there is any need, alternative donor areas can be used.
In this phase, the grafts that are just collected are preserved for the upcoming implantation process. Grafts are cleaned, and submerged in an active plasma solution in order to be stored properly until the implantation.
This is where the actual hair transplantation happens. Again, using special tools, the surgeon begins to carefully implant the grafts collected from the donor area, to the recipient area in the head.
